About

Anita Aenishanslin (MSW, RSW)
Life presents challenges, and sometimes the path forward isn't clear. What makes my practice unique is that I'm not just here to listen—I'm here to connect in meaningful ways. My co-pilot, a friendly and calming therapy dog, often joins our sessions (if you're comfortable with dogs) to provide extra support and comfort.
I offer flexible options for care: in-office sessions, virtual and phone appointments, and even off-site visits. For example, I work with seniors in long-term care facilities or residences, bridging gaps for families who may be far away. I provide support to ensure vulnerable individuals feel seen and cared for.
My ExperienceI bring a wealth of life and professional experience to my work. Over the years, I've supported people in diverse settings, including group homes, professional arts organizations in partnership with CAMH in Toronto, and programs for newcomers to Canada and foreign language students. I've worked with individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and adults from all walks of life, tailoring my approach to each person's unique needs.

Meet Scottie
Every great therapist needs an exceptional co-pilot, and Scottie, my golden lab, fills that role beautifully. With just over a year and a half in the field (mentored by a wise and experienced poodle predecessor), Scottie has quickly become an integral part of the therapeutic experience
Clients often describe him as “such a friendly dog” and praise his ability to create a warm and loving presence in the room. His gentle, intuitive nature makes him uniquely attuned to the emotions that surface during sessions. When someone touches on a tender edge within themselves, Scottie sometimes becomes quietly concerned—a sign of his deep sensitivity and his commitment to being present without reacting.
When Scottie takes a day off, his absence never goes unnoticed—he's the star of the team! Outside of work, Scottie enjoys a good back rub and, of course, never says no to a well-deserved treat. He's more than a therapy dog; he's a trusted partner in creating a space where healing can flourish.

How I Work
I take an eclectic approach to therapy, tailoring my work to meet your unique needs. I draw from several therapeutic modalities, including:
Compassionate InquiryBased on Gabor Maté's work, which helps uncover the deeper patterns behind your struggles.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)Which explores the different parts of yourself to foster inner harmony and healing.
Mindfulness-Based TechniquesTo help you connect with your body (somatic) and stay present in the moment.
As a Relational Therapist, I also explore how past experiences may be showing up in your present life. While we may reflect on the past, my focus is on how unresolved trauma, grief, or loss could be interfering with your ability to feel safe and fully present today. I believe therapy should honour your story and I will meet you wherever you are in your journey.

My Office Space
Located in the historic Clock Tower in Bracebridge, Ontario, my office is a bright, open space that offers both charm and confidentiality. Situated on the third floor, it provides a quiet and welcoming environment for clients who prefer in-person sessions. The building's rich history adds to its character, creating a setting that feels both grounding and inviting. Whether you're seeking a space for reflection, healing, or meaningful conversation, my office is designed to be a place where you can feel at ease.
